“Kazuma?” Hatori asked, intrigued by her sudden inquiry about a distant, elder cousin of his. Growing up, the dragon did admire his martial arts instructor- Kazuma was always very calm and collected, and had a paternal streak in him that Hatori didn’t even see in his own father. Kazuma wasn’t even that much older than Hatori, but he was always very mature, very responsible.
Hatori truly envied it.
As Hatori grew, Kazuma began becoming more of a friend than a teacher. They spent time together whenever their schedules would allow; the dragon very much enjoyed grabbing a drink or two with the sensei on evenings that he was visiting. Saki’s question had caught him off-guard, and he couldn’t help but wonder why exactly she’d asked such a thing.
“I suppose… I suppose I am not entirely sure. It’s not as if we discuss women overly often.” Kazuma was aware of the curse, and he was aware of the Kana incident. Of course, it was no surprise that Kazuma didn’t push Hatori to date or even discuss females. On the same side of the coin, Hatori didn’t overly pry into the elder’s life, or force him to divulge his past relationships. Hatori couldn’t remember ever seeing Kazuma with a woman, especially not after he began acting as a father to Kyo. Hatori needed to think about this question carefully.
“Kazuma does not date very often, you see. He is a very busy man, running the dojo. He would need a strong woman in his life, one who can handle a business and encourage him. He would need to be bolstered and emboldened often so he can continue giving his students all that he can. He’d need a woman who can spend all day the dojo with him, and then still be able to take care of him when he comes home. As he’s the teacher of the students, his partner would need to be the cleanliness type- you know, be able to work hard to keep both the dojo and his home nice and clean. Kazuma is not a fan of messes.” After a moment, he tilted his head to the side thoughtfully.
“Lastly, I suppose she would need to have a maternal instinct in her. I believe a mothering type of personality is what he looks for most in his future partners. Not only does he care for his students- and one student in particular- as if they were his own children, but there is no denying that Kazuma would like to be taken care of himself every once in awhile. He’s spent much of his life giving all of himself to others, I believe finally having someone care for him in the way he’s cared for everyone else all these years… Yes, I believe that is what he’d like most, Miss Hanajima.”
Ayame nodded softly, giving a little pout as he halted the last few remaining tears. “Y..Yes, I can be strong for you.” He said softly, nuzzling against Hatori’s nose and pressing a few kisses to his hair.

“Mm. You can’t give up modeling,” Hatori murmured softy, the two nuzzling each other sweetly and affectionately. He was enjoying the closeness between them, the alcohol on Ayame’s warm breath rather alluring. “It’s your livelihood, I need you to keep on modelling for me, alright? It’s how you’ve made your fortune up to this point, you’re too attractive to not be in front of the camera…”
Ciel looked skeptical, his eyes narrowed as he listened. “Violent? Sebastian has never laid an aggressive finger on me. If he did I would order him away.” The boy assured, though his mismatched hues did glance to the door. He wondered if his demon would admit to the desire of hurting his Earl.
“What needs do you mean? He kills my enemies and draws my baths. What are you offering aside from curing hands?” Ciel inquired.
{♞} — “Obedience. Curatives. Loyalty,” Hatori explained coolly, giving his pitch to the small Earl still perched on his examination table. “You’ve made your contract with Sebastian, yes? He has fully explained the inner-workings of the deal, then? You must be aware of what your ultimate demise with him will be. What would you say if I were to offer you something else? A different ending to that tragic little tale of yours. What if I were to tell you… You could keep your soul.”
Beautiful. Perfect. Now, we need Shigure to be officiant, Kisa can be the flower girl, Ayame will Hatori’s best man. Were they planning a Spring wedding or perhaps sometime in the Fall? Where should the honeymoon be?
Kisa would be a lovely flower girl. And Hiro a ring bearer. Spring has more beautiful floral options. So, I vote for a spring wedding. I don’t have to wear a dress do I? I don’t mind it in the privacy of your company but not in front of the others. As for the honeymoon they first night they could spend at the family onsen. A naked evening spent in warm relaxing waters and bathrobes before taking off for a few days away from absolutely all of them.
I can let go of the wedding dress if you promise to have some elegant and lacy negligee for the wedding night. Speaking of which, we need to call Ayame. Yes, Spring sounds wonderful, I will leave the flower choices to you. After all, you are the botanist in the family. I believe staying the night at the onsen will be nice, though afterwards, I’d very much like to fly you to Spain without the family’s knowledge. I’m thinking we’ll take a week, travelling around Europe for the honeymoon. What do you think?

Tomoe looked hatori right In the eye. He…he wanted him?! Tomoe heart picked up pace. Not knowing what to do. Tomoe reached up and cupped hatori cheek. He gently ran his thumb under his bad eye. A soft smile came to his lips
{♞} — Hatori shrunk away a bit the second his bad eye was touched. He wasn’t used to people caressing or looking at his biggest insecurity, though he knew if he and Tomoe were to pursue a relationship together, he would need to get used to the fox touching him in such a way. “I… I apologize. I’m very unused to the intricacies of relationships… I’m a bit rusty at this sort of thing.”
♠️ Headcanon #37. So, let’s talk about Hatori’s car.
Of course, it’s made very clear in the manga (and I’ve spoken about it so many times on here), about Hatori’s fascination with America, his penchant for Western culture, and considering the steering wheel in Hatori’s car is on the left side for WHATEVER reason (he’s probably killing everyone on the road in Japan), it’s easy to come to the conclusion that Hatori is driving an American made vehicle! One of the most popular brands of cars in America at the time of the Fruits Basket’s release was Cadillac, and comparing the only shot in the
anime we get of his black car next to a older model Cadillac, they are quite STRIKINGLY similar! The slanted windshield, the boxy top of the car, silver hub caps, slanted/pointed headlights, the separated back windows, and the long nose towards the front/engine of the car:
Photo one is the shot of Hatori’s car from the anime; photo two is a shot of an older model Cadillac for reference. I think it’s safe to say that a black Cadillac was at least the inspiration for his vehicle in the anime/manga, and do keep in mind that they are not cheap cars! Unsurprisingly, Hatori would spring for a luxury vehicle. HMMM. Him and his $5,000 suits he burns freely with no remorse. What a damn surprise.
As for photo three and photo four, they are both images of the new Cadillac CT6 (a goddamn sexy car, let’s be honest), which is what I believe modern Hatori (ie, MY Hatori) would drive. If, in any of my threads, his car is involved, this is the handsome vehicle my baby will be sporting!

Stumbling upon the girl sound asleep on his examination table, Hatori frowned and watched for a few moments, before an idea began to come to fruition. Smirking deviously, he tip-toed over to his desk and picked up a permanent marker. Carefully, he began scribbling a mustache across her upper lip, and then sat back at his desk to finish to his work for the day. He preened, exceedingly proud of himself for his completely original, not-lame-at-all ‘prank’ he’d just pulled on her.
